Secure Cheque Printing Solutions from

Ashlin   &   Troy Secure MICR Toner from Ashlin Computer Corporation

Why did Troy® decide to add this new feature?

Offering this new feature with our product line will provide customers with an extra layer of security to protect against document fraud and chemical alteration of documents.  Check fraud costs companies millions of dollars each year; TROY’s goal is to help protect our customers against fraudulent alteration of documents.

How is this going to help prevent check fraud?

Troy® MICR Toner Secure contains a hidden red security agent within the toner; if chemical alteration is attempted on your document a red stain will appear.

What does "Secure" mean?

Secure simply means that we are adding a feature to help combat check fraud.  With check fraud growing at a rate of about 25% per year, Troy® is being proactive in helping our customers protect themselves against chemical alteration.

How will I benefit from added Security?

TROY’s new feature protects your MICR documents from chemical alteration* without requiring additional equipment or reconfigurations to your printer.  The simplicity of this solution allows for seamless integration with your current printing process.

*Any solvent that will remove the toner will release the active red agent which is embedded in the toner.

What is the Troy® Quality Guarantee?

Troy® stands behind the performance of Troy® MICR Printer solutions.  Troy® will assist, when required, to resolve bank reject rate problems which are related to Troy® printer produced checks.  If we are unable to resolve a reject rate problem and a Troy® product is determined to be the cause of the problem, we will reimburse the fees paid to the bank for excessive rejects which are printed after Troy® was notified of the problem.

The Troy® Check Performance Guarantee applies only to Troy® products.  These Troy® products must be operated in accordance with Troy® approved procedures, using Troy® preventive printer maintenance options, Troy® MICR Printer, Troy® approved MICR supplies, and maintained by Troy® under our manufacturer's warranty or maintenance agreement.

What is chemical alteration?

Chemical alteration, also known as check washing is the process of removing elements from a check through chemical means allowing the ability to reprint information.  Criminals typically use a common household chemical to perform this type of alteration. Chemical alteration is difficult to detect at the first point of contact; therefore, it is important to help protect against this threat.
